Part One: The Beginning of it All

Part One: The Beginning of it All

I tripped
Stumbled against the cheap glass wall which
shook when my wait depended on it
Glasses of Tanqueray flowed through my blood but
it had yet to keep my eyes from gazing into his

His eyes
Such a strange indescribable color
Almost clear but with a pale hint of tan
They were beautiful
as were mine according to him.
He looked nervous.
I felt bold.

We unconsciously circled each other
He, with full sobriety, did not waver
and slip as I did
He smiled while I grinned with
a look of seductiveness and slowly
leaned against the glass, protruding
what I had to offer with my low cut black tank top.
He moved closer, but then backed away.

This game
This animal-like courting game
seemed to go on for an eternity
slow secretive steps
countered each time

A janitor passed and my attention for only a second
And with that opportune moment
He playfully poked me in the stomach
and backed up against the glass
our eyes locked and I
mesmerized
took two steps
pushed myself against his body and pressed my lips against his

My heart was racing
Breathing heavily
Eyes beaming
His eyes were excited, but nervous
Desperation for parental consent was written
All over his face
I didn’t care
I kissed him again

His arm, with it’s strength, feeling of protection, and
tattoo exploiting his marine pride, slipped quietly
and sensually around my back
I traced his arm with my fingertips, watching them
run over his skin
His head turned again, worried
Both of our parents were in this
labyrinth of a mall as well

When his focus returned to me
My lips were waiting for him
And with that the most glorious and final kiss
Of the night

We studied each others eyes and agreed it was
Time to go
My mother
His father
Were searching for us
We hurried to meet them
Found them
Set off to the parking lot
Continually staring at one another
Left in our separate cars

The ride home was torturous
My mom with her suspicions
Me with my desire to be with him again
In that corner
Against the glass
In his arms

And my boyfriend called
Asked how I was
Where I’d been
He became annoyed with my intoxication
Said his goodbyes

When I got home, I knew I wouldn’t sleep.
I had to call and thank him for the kiss
He answered
I melted again
