Cold October sky feels decades
away from where we lifted off
My posterior trembles as I
remember why I’ve given up
Rockets flash and scream out to
the night, destroy my insides
So invisible we’ve become the
calendar's asleep every season
And idle stasis of cold tranquility
we live fading into constellations
Mission Control send us a signal
giving way solutions to being alone
Rocket Man, alone and resolute
A lonely revolution
Spanning the airwaves of time
I contemplate a situation I’d trade
oxygen for any sense of direction
Home was never to be the planned
destination, I learn as I escape
Rocket Man, alone and resolute
A lonely revolution
Spanning the airwaves of time
