Books, rules, orders,
Magazines and signs
Fiction, Non-fiction, Lots of books
I’m running out of time
I know I’ll never read them all
They’re too numerous to count
The only thing that I could do
Is stare at them open-mouthed
Everyone quietly sits around
The tables slightly square
Then they sit and read their books
Some just sit and stare
Spines of books are broken
Not one is left alone
They all are read by someone
Some of the read unknown
The library haunts our nightmares
Our knowledge is a whip
Used for teachers’ amusement
The library at the tip
Who can conquer
This demon room
If it is not me,
Then how about you?
You and me, me and you
If either of us is to prevail
We shall share the secrets
To high school’s Holy Grail
When you find the key to it
And if I’m not around
Don’t hesitate to publish a book
And hope it will get found
It may get placed atop the shelves
In that demon room
If nothing does become of it
Will students forever be doomed?
