Finger to lip

My interest was sparked

A brief hello

Then hours dashed by

You're the words that come out easy,

And I am speechless at best.

The more I knew

The further I reached for you



Tasks at hand

Made me wait yet another day

I called you in the A.M.

Groggy voice just awakened

You sounded lovable

As you stretched and yawned

Everything was still there

The finished sentences,

Wise cracks and unbreakable laughs



I just found a friend

To treat me so nice

Ever so sweet you make this seem

And as I lay in my bed tonight

I think of how you could be thinking of me

And you know it’s not so easy when you’re all alone

Cause we didn’t have to try to make this right

Your star it seems to shine above the rest.

You're the face before the cameras,

The smile I’d like to earn.

The closest thing to perfect
