Pick a life, My life

Contributed by unforgiven on Monday, 30th August 2004 @ 06:22:38 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Pick your friends,
Your labeled from now on.
Shunned for who you are,
For who surrounds you.

Don't raise your hand to answer,
Your too smart to be cool.
Keep your hand down,
Your too dumb to be popular.

You can't wear that clothing,
It shows you as different.
Dress like all the others,
Go on and become sheep.

Careful who you date,
It could risk everything.
Beware of the "loser",
With his kind heart and nice smile.

Be all you can be,
But not around them.
Cover your skin with makeup,
And hide yourself within.

Follow them and win,
They know what's best for you.
Show not one emotion,
Your fear can be smelt.

I like this,I felt this way as a teenager and some as an adult. I say "to each his own,be yourself what else can you be."

Well in all actuality, picking your friends does say who you are. Although it might seem crappy, it does. Maybe to other teenagers it is whether you are a loser or not, which is not fair, but well... if you pick the 'wrong' friends. As far as the ones that do drugs, then you will be labeled as one of them because friends influence friends to do what the majority of the group is doing.

Also, clothes? I say wear what you want but don't go around thinking that you are the most original thing out there, because you wear clothes from Hot Topic or something. Kids like me, who are 20 years old did it before you and there are THOUSANDS of kids out there who do it. Clothes don't make you who you are. So to be considered different and not a sheep doesn't mean you have to dress differently from the masses. It's who you are inside.

Weee. Good write again.

well.... this is the poem that i have wanted to write for myself but could never find the words to make it work!!! I love this one alot... its so hard to finally come to terms with the fact that you have to be yourself and not conform to make others happy... its the end of the road for us, its almost over so its time to break outy and be who we really are... what have we got to loose... we arent guna see many of em ever again!!! Its an awsome poem... ~cRuNcHiE~ xoxoxoxox
