Temporarily Mine

Contributed by Rae on Sunday, 29th August 2004 @ 05:14:24 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

the black curtains have fallen down,
and i have been thinking of
the eyes that stops me.
no light could shine in my room.
not now when the bed prefers to be alone.
calm and silent.
the wind is cold, i feel at the
end of my shoulders but
the center of my heart feels warm... burns.
i'm afraid but at the same time know
that the loneliness is romantic.
kindda hoping to lay on this
wide space beneath my feet,
but all my body could do was
put my hands in my pocket
and look up to the ceiling with luminous dust.
i turn around and expect that
those eyes will be looking at me
but i know i'm not there.
so are you.
we try to try to try not to feel anything
but it's all a lie.
there goes the music behind us.
i reach for the black curtains,
feeling it feeling every inch of the moment.
my ankles are bleeding,
still you had your back on me.
i know you know i exist.
but we're just manipulated.
and your hands are tied.
there's no future in this.
the years will stop.
you took my hand.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
