In Memory of Flash

Contributed by positivelypurple on Sunday, 29th August 2004 @ 12:08:00 PM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

For my 21st Birthday, an old love gave you to me,
Little did I know you'd last much longer than he.
A sweet baby bunny full of vigor and sprite,
Running and jumping with all of your might.

You were feisty and spirited, a joy to behold,
You were the craziest of the bunch so I was told.
Tan-colored and lop-eared, with my friends you were a smash,
With all that personality, I instantly named you "Flash."

Times got hard when I had to move around,
But you still loved me and never made a sound!
To my best friend's house you went for a while.
You made her and her family laugh and smile.

Time passed on and you were returned to me,
This time you moved to your home under a tree.
Mom took good care of you while I was living away,
But eventually I came back and was ready to play.

You ran through the yard quick as could be,
Even faster than Maggie, Scooter and Murphy!
Try as they did, they could not keep up,
But still licked your face like you were their pup.

A long life you led as a quiet sweet soul,
In my heart you will always have a role.
I see you jumping through clouds in Heaven far away,
I know you will be there to meet me one day.

I remember reading this and I still love it as much! I love my Bundles so much(my baby bunny who's 1 year and a half old),I can't imagine my life without her,she means everything to me.I hope the pain will cease, keep in mind you will see her again some day.
