she finds herself having trouble sleeping lately.
she'll lie in bed wrapped in her blankets,
pretending they're his arms.
and she'll fall asleep warm and quixotic,
but then sometime during the night
she'll wake up cold and confused
wondering where he went.
then she realizes he was never there to begin with
so she sighs, and feels more alone than before.
she pulls the covers back around herself and falls back asleep,
only to be awoken the same way a few hours later.
