|
far too many changes,
have come 'round to pass,
these bittersweet memories,
holding tight to the past...
in these lines a lady writes,
between them a lady reads,
one has raw fresh new grief,
one has lived with death's deeds,
both've known long lonely nights,
their loves unable to hold them tight,
once vows were given freely,
when life was beautifully all ahead,
truely it is a widow's heart; that
learns compassion from the dead,
cicadas and crickets are singing,
thunder cracks loud in the skies,
oh! what i would not give; to again
look deeply into his beautiful eyes...
who could've known life's lessons?
and a widow's concessions?
alas, for those yet grieving,
we share what keeps us going,
truelove never dies; great compassion comes in knowing,
just like a candle alone in the dark,
as the flame billows and turns,
a widow's heart is broken and torn,
it is her lonely soul that burns...

In sharing the same grief makes it so easy to touch another grieving soul. You pen the thoughts and pain so well and bring it to light and somehow it makes it easier to deal with knowing you are not alone in this. I love you, my dear dear friend.

I love the approach, of a poem within integrally tied together, much the same as the lines being a story with the between the lines areas open to inerpretation, that is now defined. I know what I meant, uncertain that that is what I actually said.
It is a fabulous write m'lady, and a single candle lit in the darkest of night can light a blazing fire of hope. I wish for you that fire.

| LadyFawn my heart goes out to you your poem shows the loss of a friend as well as a lover. Try not to feel too lonely there are a lot of people out there that are in the same boat. They too are looking for companionship and also perhaps another chance. I wish you the strength that you need and also the compassion. Hugs and love from bernard. |

Those that are not left alone, nor have walked through the "Widow's door" could not even come close when you explain what it feel like to be a widow.....Like being cut in half.....and never finding the other half to be whole again.....and bleeding from the sore, that is never healed! But, alas, as sad as it is, and as lonely as it can be! We are still here, and must be set free through the love that we once had, and will see us through!
I'm so sorry Nessa......you have had a double 'Whammy" as I call it. Lost one to find another, hopefully......then losing him too...a double whammy that triggers all the sadness one has left in their heart!

Time can never measure the depth of pain one feels when we lose someone. Our soulmates pass and loneliness creeps through the door. We feel we are no more, but must go on as if we're OK! Nessa there is pained beauty in these words and my heart goes out to you. The only hope I can lend is that oneday, your souls will collide again in a reverberating quake when you meet at heaven's gate. Allow the earth to carry your special soul day to day, year to year... in hope.

| I don't know what it is like to be a widow, but in losing a son, I do know the grief and lonliness that goes with a great loss, Be strong and pray the serenity prayer every day, It helps. A day at a time is all we can live and as the days go by each day is a little less painful. God bless you |

| grief is an amazingly bittersweet journey....experiencing from heartwrenching moments of my own.......i rue that day when it comes for me that i must go on without him on this side.....i can only imagine.....and then i don't wish to.......my heart goes out to you.....when i light my candles i'll light for you my friend.........as always.....a beautifully engaging write..... |

Oh Nessa!
How deeply I can emphasize with this so beautiful and sad write.
It needs a widow who has gone through it.
And moreover a widow who had nothing in this world than the beloved lost.
But love does never die. It makes the ujiverse go round. and round.
And man lives by Faith, nothing is in the past
but in the Eternal Present and Alive, though we feel it not.
And this gives us the strength to go on. - with HOPE
Thanks forn sharig with us this wonderful and so sad poem with which I so greatly identify
