An excerpt from my journals ... The Chapter of Man
I saw them prey
I heard them plead
I wrote their names
As I watched them leave
Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves
The elder races, all
They could wait no longer
Once a minority
Man multiplied with careless abandon
Spread like a festering disease
Consumed all, and moved on
They were taught the old ways
Of respect and of honor
Preservation of the Balances
But Man grew restless
Began to conquer
Each other at first
Then waged war against
The caretakers
Man began to take
And quickly forgot to give back
Many members of the Elder Races
Could stand to watch no further
And they sought refuge in other planes
Taking with them, the ability to do so
As they believed Man could not change his ways
They left him to his own devices
It nearly broke them to leave
Some of the self vanquished
Return infrequently
To observe Man's decline
They find safe harbour
With those who still believe
Those that still follow
Ancient doctrine, the Ancient Code
Most of mankind view the Elder Races
As myth, as story, as imagined
For much time has passed
Since their departure
Forgotten, would they be
Were it not for me
And those of my kind
Watchers, we are called
We scribes of history
Observers
Cursed with near immortality
Cursed with brutally clear memory
Cursed to stand forever outside
And gaze through hazy windows
Documenting all from
Corporeal form
Unable to change or affect
The turning pages of time
All that could leave, have
Those who stayed behind
Are imprisoned
In this Man made hell
Wishing, dreaming of escape
As Man decends even lower
Pulling all those who share this world
Into His fate

This is an amazing writing from the eyes of a spirit watcher. Please continue as this is one of the most rewarding things I have read lately.

And tell us Dear God if you would please.
How are we to stay and still remain true?
Through our minds alone we exist, and stay loyal, holding to our principals of long ago!
No one can change your mind......it's invisible to others......watching, and observing, but never becoming involved will save you!
Oh I like this very much Naz........
Do it again
Poetic hugs

WOW! Great mindset on this one. It's nothing like coming in here to read poetry and finding a gem among the crowd. This is truth in it's poetic state of the mind! Wonderfully expressed! Divine even! :-)
