Watcher's Diary

Contributed by Nazmythian on Saturday, 28th August 2004 @ 03:09:04 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

( I have no idea where this "voice" came from )

Mankind shall surely die
It is inevitable
I have seen it before
I shall see it again

The benevolent Mother
In all her phazes

As a Child, receptive
She knows no better
Than to share with innocence
Eagerly seeking approval
To Please

As a Maiden, willing
Opening herself up
Seeking the tender touch
Of an attentive lover
To pleasure

As The Crone, bitter
Falling in upon herself
Withdrawn, refexively
Ridding herself of refuse
In preservation

She shudders and shakes
Twitching at the surface
Trying to remove her parasites
She coughs and sneezes
Expelling their poisons
She cries acidic tears of sorrow
For days on end
She peels back her layers
Burns her skin with her insides
Irrigates her wounds
Then freeze dries for ages

Life, all life
Is extinguished
She lies dormant
Rejuvenating
Healing from the abusive
Treatment of her tormentors
As with the Dinosaurs
So too, treads Man

I have witnessed it
Many times
I am a Watcher
One of the last of my kind
We are
The true historians
Recorders of Her life

Blessed Be Our Mother

Earth

Sometimes I have expectations of what I am about to read on this site, I like to see things like this which are very interesting and speak to the imagination. Groovy. --the Moth

Very unique. It reminds me of God being the historian. Our Earth is beautiful and I hate to see it falling apart by man.

You speak the truth, dearest Naz! Your words reverberated through me and reached my soul, caressing it with soft hands... A beautiful, yet utterly honest and sad truth of how we treat our Mother Earth. Incredible write! It made me percieve this world much differently. The flow and the description of this piece is... I seem to have no words but perfect. And such are all of your works, ami! May your words be remembered forever! Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous masterpiece. Your words always seem to paint a clear picture in my mind, and I enjoy that very much! Many thanks once more, and all my love!

Your devoted fan and friend,

Fleur

I was intrigued Naz.....and then just before the end.......I recognized through mankind what it was you meant!
Bless Our Mother Earth......she has replenished herself through all the abuse and filth.....how much longer can she survive unless she is helped.
Creations around her are dying fast. Many already extinct and gone.......Please Bless her much....before everything including man is longer able to live upon her!
Wonderful, very insightful!

Interestingly "channeled" poem. It's a beautiful metaphor and I -had- read it several times before commenting.
Eagerly awaiting the next entry...

I see where you'd be looking for permission.
I like the overall tone of this work (i've not read the others yet) and I feel its entirely in the xylem of Brown Paper Bag.

Its a take on a concept that's encompassing and refreshing.

Well done.
