Mr. President

Mr. President
August 26, 2004

If you have such good ideas
How come you aren’t to blame
When they crash and burn
After you stood for them in fame?
You don't want to be held responsible
For the things you say and do
What kind of a president
Hasn't enough honor to say 'me' instead of 'you'?
And you strike back about flip-flops
But a president should know
If he's done something wrong, to make it stop
You’re hypocrisy on democracy
Will get you no place, and
Mr. President, declaring war without notice
No consulting, no focus?
Lie after lie about how we could die
That more evidence has been found overseas
To prove that we can no longer take advantage of our safety
So instead of working it out, just send out the men
How many of ours, Sir, have died since then?
And the innocent victims, who we're trying to 'free'?
How many more, Mr. president, until you will see?
Problems can be solved without going into war
No need to destroy lives, of those who have no part in this
Politics and terror, but along with the innocents?
We know you love the freedom of press,
Of speech, the right to own weapons
But you frown on the freedom of love
Setting restrictions on marriage
Matrimony is an emotion binding, not a lesson from God
He who loves all, would He agree and nod
To the blood being shed, and the discrimination going on?
Mr. President, is there logic behind
The deficit that you're creating
Or have you simply lost your mind
And the ability to have common sense debating?
Here's an idea, why don't we ask to them not to investigate
The 9/11 attacks, so they won't see my mistake
It wasn't clear enough for you, that Clinton left saying
bin Laden and Al Qaeda are dangerous, so make sure there's no delaying?
Now, Mr. President, I could go on
Flaunting your flaws
Of the economy, Florida voters,
Jobs and education
But I haven’t got the time
To talk about all the ways you’re ruining this nation
So just know, my faith is in Kerry
My advice to you,
Learn to be a little less contrary.

Not only am I member of the Hairclub for men--I'm also the flipping President, Baby. Different poem. Good thinking. --Mothy
