You Didn't Need Me

Contributed by horseluver on Sunday, 3rd November 2002 @ 10:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I haven’t seen you in a couple of years
Look at me now, or can’t you see through your tears?
Why are you here, you were doing just great
Didn’t need me, have you forgotten your hate?
You stabbed me in the back, the one who cared
You pushed me away, when for you I was scared
You look so pathetic, all beaten and bruised
Didn’t need me, just them and their booze
What’s this on your wrist, tried to end your pain?
Sorry honey, but you missed the vein
Just had to fit in, had to be cool
Didn’t think that now, you would look like a fool
Don’t give me that look, I am stronger this time
I can see your stupidity; I’m no longer blind
You know you have some nerve, showing up here
Still on your drugs, still reeking of beer
I have a life, I don’t need your stories
I have a family, and I have enough worries
Don’t look so shocked, of course you can’t stay
Didn’t need me, you made it this way
I took your misery for too many years
Now I refuse, I won’t drown in your tears
Why are you here, you walked out of my door
Didn’t need me, you were so sure
I ruined your fun, got in your way
A piece of me left with you, but no you cannot stay
Those real great friends, that would stand by your side
Where are they now, oh most of them died?
Well this has been sad, seeing the cards you have dealt
My last words to you, please go get some help
And do it for you, because I won’t suffer anymore
It’s my turn to walk; and I don’t need you for sure

This is very sad. Im sorry you have been burnt by such a friend. I know how that burnt can be... you can help, but at a distance, not like being so close as before. Pray for them, and also guide them to a drug rehab place, or if this is a teen, to a place designed for kids and thier problems. How hard this is on you, and just as hard for your friend to come back to you... Guide them from a distance, you can still help, or they wouldn't have been at your door again... it dosen't mean you have to be best buds, just put them in a direction of the help they need. Obviously this is a cry for help... you have a dealt with the pain of what you went thru, now deal with your guidance of knowing what you can do, and let them get the help they need. a phone number, a local shelter, a womans shelter, drug rehabs, a teen shelter, a person whom you know, that can deal with this kind of problem and knowing in your heart, you still care, but can no longer be close to them. Then find someone who can be, and is trained in doing the right thing to getting the help for your friend. YOU can still be there, maybe not so grate at first for your friend, but if they still choose to ignore this, then the best you can do, is call the cops and they might be able to find someone who will put them in the right path, instead of in a jail or prison. Just some thoughts and insight. Pains of friendships are tough,a nd when they have crossed teh line, its unbearable. Sometimes the authorities are a good thing, sometimes not. A person who deals in hot line issues of suicide and other crisis, or a church group, is a way to help guide your friend,a nd you can do so, at a distance. it dosen't mean you don't care, it means you do, or you wouldn't have written this poem with so much feeling to it.
take care,
Amber Rose :)

I can relate to this poem
alot, as that would be somthing
i would probably do as described
in this poem, it's sad when friends
use you like that and take for
granted what they have standing
right in front of them, but i dont
think i would completely turn away
i would as rose said up there guide
them in the direction they needed
to be at least that much
no matter how they done me
Great write, This one really
hit home
Keep em' coming
