Intriguing.... very thought provoking. If I'm interpretting correctly (and I feel like I'm really going out on a limb this time)... I'm inclined to say that they are perhaps not yet ready to climb. They may, though, find the way to that inscription in their own time.
Whether or not I'm entirely off base... I do very much like your style... it's better, even, than coffee in terms of getting the mind moving in the morning (and I'm a BIG fan of coffee).
