Mind Like An Empty Page

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 26th August 2004 @ 02:11:17 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

My mind is like an empty page,
Numbed from all the past hate & rage,
Not feeling anything from love to stress,
Head is in somewhat of a mess.

Hurt & pain have long resided,
In my ears they have confided,
Long done their ever lasting damage,
Gave me more than I could possibly manage.

Heart hangs low in my chest,
Longing to be held & softly caressed,
Dreams have gradually faded,
Been destroyed from a past that’s jaded.

Never thought that this would happen,
That my red blooded heart could blacken,
It could be broke right into two,
This has happened because of my love for you.

Love has hurt & made me bleed,
My dead plant grew from a tainted seed,
A mind that is troubled beyond belief,
Holds deep fear & shakes like a leaf.

The title alone drew me to read this one, I love it.
As for the poem, it simply flows all the way down the page.
I especially liked the lines
"Heart hangs low in my chest,
Longing to be held & softly caressed"

Good work

Steve

My, you've done an apt job of describing your feelings here. The rhyme is a nice touch, too.
Good work.
