Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates

Topic: Lifepoems

You never know jut what you’re going to get,
On your fate you can’t place any bet,
Life can be so unpredictable,
Can guide you or render you unstable.

Chances start from the day we’re born,
Into this world that continues to be torn,
One day it’s black & one day it’s white,
Sometimes it let’s go then holds on real tight.

You can never be too sure of how things will go,
How life will end it something we don’t know,
We are just here to enjoy the big, scary ride,
That can make us sometimes want to run & hide.

Other time’s life can embrace us,
Not dreaming of causing us any sort of fuss,
Telling us not to be scared or afraid,
Whilst in the other hand carrying a blade.

Can you trust life & anyone who comes near?
Give up the ghost & finally let go of your fear,
Or for the rest of your living days,
Be wary of life & of its devious ways.

There is a point in life that you have to let go of the past because it can no longer be used as an excuse. You have to take the reins of your own life and make your own future and hold only yourself responsible for what happens. After a certain age, you are responsible for what you do, and the results of bad and good decisions belong to your choices. No one can control your life but you. Make a stand, not excuses. Rita

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
