I see you
With the cracked look in your eyes
As you desperately try to pretend as if you never saw me
I fall away from the scene
Seeing the way your eyes fill with emotion
Wishing I could fill mine too
And I’ll go home each day
Put the radio on and listen to each heart breaking note
I’ll put the kettle on
I’ll do every single everyday task, going through the motions
But I still won’t feel

Your eyes are sad, your eyes are mad
Your eyes fill with a new shade of blue
My eyes are dead, sunk into my head
But I have no blues for you
And if I just take one look in your eyes
I’ll pray your blues will become mine too

I see you
On the last train out of Hell
We play this game with passion as if we’re all heartless fools
I’ll shy away from the board
Seeing the way you play with real passion
Wishing I could play that way too
But I’ll be the one on the radio, playing each heart breaking note
I’ll sing with your pained passion
I’ll do whatever it takes to feel your dead end blues
But I still won’t feel

Your eyes are sad, your heart is mad
Your eyes fill with a new shade of blue
My eyes are dead, sunk into my head
But I still have no blues for you

I’ll play as if your blues are mine too

My eyes will die with no new news
And I will die too singing about your dead end blues
Your dead end blues are now mine too
