Freedom is Foreign

Holding on to static cause it's all we have now.
Running in circles with no exit in sight.
And it's funny how this lack of control can make your ears bleed.
Rub on the alcohol and keep your blood from clotting.
We're still living where we don't want to be.
Everyone speaks a different language and I can't understand.
The sound of your voice is soothing but you're not here,
No, you're never here.
Whine and complain all you want now
But tomorrow the sun will rise again
To greet the same old mess of selfishness.
They said to me "You made your choices,
And we hate what you've become."
But I can't change and I won't conform.
Freedom is foreign and I can tell I'm alone.
The wounds have healed, but the scars remain.

I really like the ending. The wounds have healed but the scars remain.
That is so true.
