Suicide
|
Two thousand miles away from home and alone
The radio blaring, only the interior lights shone
In the car, with a lifetime ahead
Staring into the black asphalt, confronting the dead.
She laughed at herself to pass the time
Flooring it, putting miles between herself and the scene of the crime
She missed forever and only paused for red
Replaying the images of their voices and all they said.
Feeling so battered, broken and bruised
Out of the car, she walks miles in worn out shoes
Left her past where it belonged, she was sure
Taking precious time to find what was inside of her.
All her life, she played to win
Only to end up, smashing her porcelain skin
Coming to a crossing and finding his hand
He lead her to a different land.
She couldnt accept the perfect shades
The beauty cut like razorblades
So, she washed her face and then the knife
She took in a breath and then took her life.
He found her laying in a pool of crimson and rose
And sat in silence to mourn the loss
He faught to save her porcelain, before he cried and cried
Her memory lost the day she died.

The title as well as the poem I thought well constructed. The details were very powerful.
I was saddened by the death. I suppose because i've come to find life so precious.
This is an excellent (5 rating +) poem.

Oh my god . . . Linds . . . this is absolutely amazing. Beautiful. Stunning. Effulgent. I'm awestruck . . .
Perfectly done. I'm mouthing the lines
She couldnt accept the perfect shades
The beauty cut like razorblades
over and over again because I don't want to ever forget them; they're sheer poetry at its very peak.
Beautiful, hon. *hugs*
