Vengence

Contributed by DarkFey on Wednesday, 25th August 2004 @ 02:35:01 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Twisting and turning in this knot of pain.
I reach for your hand, but you lay there
slain. Your blood runs thick across this
crusted plain.

The sun beats down. I see the shadows of
the vultures swirling above. I scream your
name, you can't come back to me, it's all
in vain.

Grief washes over me. I curl up as if in
mothers womb, and let it take me to you.
In memories of the gentlest touch and looks
exchanged.

How will I ever get up from here and make
my own way, without you? Looking into your
glassy eyes, knowing it's true. Finally I
accept that death has taken you.

Pursuing vengence for the blood that wets
the sand. Trembling in insanity I take your
gun in my hand. Seeking the path of the men
that took you. Murder and reckoning will come
to them soon.

They took you from me for no reason atoll.
Except that you were better, better than all.
And I promise to kill them, kill them all.

Woah... powerful is an understatement... I love the last verse, I just hope that you don't find out how unsatisfying vengence can be...
