Her long legs straddle
the Harley,
hair flails, body tenses,
clutch tightens,
a lover's embrace,
excitement, acceleration,
ecstasy,
ominous and foreboding.
Losing herself, her heart
pumps and pounds
to the pulsating power
of the big V-Twin engine.
Her past loves
forgotten,
remnants and wreckage
now scattered
gravel on the highway.
She becomes one with nature.
Luminous eyes sparkle,
distant headlights
and faraway stars,
out shine
indiscernible scars,
the bike accidents
and battles in bars.
Forgiveness sought,
guilt and fear allayed.
She rides fast and free,
love's illusions pander
self-delusions of grandeur.
She’s a motorcycle
Momma.

I'd like to hop on the back of some guy's bike and be free for a bit.... but probably just for a long ride on a summer afternoon. Reality would catch up to us somewhere down the road, I'm sure.
I don't know who has it more right... the motorcycle Momma or me. An interesting question to ponder...
Well done... and... intriguing, as always,
SNM
