Depth of Sight

Deep into my eyes
You will see my joy
Deeper in my eyes
You can see my pain
Learned through experiences
Layered by knowledge,
Strength and compassion.
On the surface gleams
The tears of someone else’s agony.
In the colors of my eyes
You can view my childhood,
My family, my love, my chilly afternoons
My eyelashes are the traces
Of a girl too worried on beauty
Too striven for perfection.
In the sparkle of my eyes
You can glimpse momentary completion
Temporary satisfaction.
But if you look long and hard
My eyes hold nothing more
Than a simple longing for my dreams
Of eternal laughter…

That is a truly remarkable write. Deep and honest. I flows well and reads very easy. And it is so true. 5/5
