How I dreamed this
and how it is
is how the girl in me
freed womanly
My spirit and my soul
were set apart
but you piece me together
beautifully.
I am breath
I am skin
I am tangled limbs
and tempted lips
I am able bodied
and coursing blood
I connect with myself
through you.
I am a pleasure
no longer denied
no longer thrown or torn
between yesterday and tomorrow
I introduce myself
to today
here and now
and all it has to offer.
I am satisfied
fulfilled for this patience
as you slip inside this dream
at an ease
as you make sense
of my wait and me
and make worth of them.
I am more myself
I am twenty-three.

This is fabulous!!!!!!! Wow! This brought a memory/a feeling rushing back... a very good feeling.
Something here reminded me of Maya Angelo's "Still I Rise"... very different context - but... the same essence, I think. I, for one, cannot help but be moved by it.
Powerfully relatable... I feel like I should thank you for reminding me of something...
