Suicide

As the rain falls on the window sill,
Everything seems so calm and still.
Unlike my mind, that’s hopping around.
Up and Down. Up and Down.
Thinking thoughts I shouldn’t be thinking.
As I look over at the clock, minutes ticking.
Nothing seems right with me tonight.
Every good thought, I seem to fight.
As I lay here in my bed,
Mangled thoughts running thru my head.
Everything around me is sinking and spinning.
I feel the pressure in my blood thinning.
I feel the burning question in my mind.
Is it time? Is it time?
Right now its ‘round about midnight.
Time for me to give up this fight.
I’m down, its over, I’m losing my mind.
It has finally come, its my time.
As I place the gun to my head.
I know this is final, this is the end.
I pull the trigger, thinking its my time.
Waiting for that rhythmic rhyme.
That rhyme to stop the spinning in my head.
Apparently its not my time.
So I pull it again.
I love playing Russian Roulette with my best friend.
Its still not my time.
I know the next one is mine.
I pull it again.
Click, Click, Boom.
The silence stopped as the blood splattered across my room.

I really enjoyed this one. I like how the poem has a magnificant flow and just suddenly stops. This poem leaves questioning what could have been so wrong for someone to take their own life.

I'm here if you'd like to talk.
KEEP YA HEAD UP.
I loved " I love playing Russian Roulette with my best friend." I had a friend die from playing that game. They were all drugged up. |
