You know how when you wake up
And those first few moments where you lay there
And you have no idea where you are?
Fear shoots up my body just thinking they won’t be there
That is when you truly love
And you know when you have had your heart broken
You sit and cry in the arms of a friend
They comfort you and hold you close to their heart
And you can hear the steady beat and forget about your own?
That is when you truly love
You know how when it rains and you feel a coat wrap around you
And you shiver a few times but then forget how cold you are
But then think of the warmth of the gesture they just gave?
And when you feel more and more alive
Every moment just spent in the presence of this one person
And you stop being afraid of death?
That is when you truly love
So when I wake up every morning in fear you’re not there
And feel you holding me while I cry to show me you care
And hold your coat around me in the rain as people stop to stare
And have no fear of death as long as you are there
That is when I will truly love.

I love this! Beautiful! It's so true...and we've all been there. That's what life is all about. |
