Bullet on loan

Contributed by sheri on Wednesday, 25th August 2004 @ 03:31:22 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Your grin makes me shake
from the bottom of my tender soles
to the inside places that nobody but me knows
barely breathing I wonder if I am even truly awake

I can smell your scent before I ever see you
the first hint of your essence and dread over takes sanity
how could god let someone like you lose on humanity
our last encounter left my soul blackened as well as blue

I fired the gun without any emotional sense of defilement
the bullet was on loan so if you would please give it back
I am not worried about the blood or the guilt that I lack
cause my warrior needs his ammo to complete his assignment

in the school yard where you would wait for me
I gaze with open eyes at a past that won't old wounds die
how you would hold my hand to comfort me while telling a lie
how could someone I loved so innocently cause so much misery

when you abandoned me I opened my veins gently with splintered glass
to pour out all the impure things you did
but the blood letting didn't relieve the secrets I hide
you turned a good little girl into a dark angel of bast

your grin makes me cry
as your clamy hands touch my tighs
why is my shell the one you choose to defile
I slip out of my body just like I am going to die

silently my warrior wakes me with a empathic stare
with the bullet in his hand
without a word I understand
that you can never again make my cross for me to bare.

I have been through this before. Somehow and someday I found the courage to stop it all. What a feeling it is to hate someone with so much passion let love them at the same time . It is all confusing.
