he died holding me

Contributed by taintedorange21 on Tuesday, 24th August 2004 @ 09:36:52 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

i see you layin there
still my tough boy with no fear
still that smile that caught my eye
i'm so lost without you in my life
don't leave me now

the years flew by so fast
they were perfect
now i'm watching you pass
it's so much harder to breathe
without you smiling at me

last night was the last time you said i love you
then he said soon you'd be gone from me
he told me to say goodbye and just breathe
i only wanted to be held by you

so i climbed in the bed
wrapped your weak arms around me
watched you slowly stop breathing
and your eyes start to close

and i whispered so gently
as my face touched your nose
i'm in your arms forever
just don't let me go

I forgot to breathe reading this poem. It's painful and beautiful at the same time. Amazing poem.

That was sad, moving, emotional, and beautiful at the same time.
