Say Something

Never speaking, afraid of shedding
light on the darkness inside.
The eye of the storm, boiling
my heart; tired of these lies.
Friends forever, I promised you,
with your face cupped in my palm.
Now we're like the sun and moon;
one up and the other down.
Nothing will change, you breathed
into my ear on that clouded night.
I wasted away thinking of you,
Who was I kidding, right?
Raising memories from ashes,
I remember sitting behind you
in class; so long ago, hearing
your voice as I break down and cry.
So I'm confessing to myself that
it's over, yes, it's true.
But I'll still think about your smile;
don't worry, I'll always love you.
