Three Thousand Feet and Falling

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Monday, 23rd August 2004 @ 12:17:57 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Titans march across these amber waves,
Belching smoke and fire,
Choking out the dream of freedom.
A corporate nation thriving on screams
Of the people who can't fight back.
When it used to be "One Nation Under God",
Now it's every man for himself.
So we all get a free ride
On this nose dive plummet.
All the parachutes were burned up
In the atmosphere.
Three thousand feet and falling,
As the heat shield gives way,
This inceneration is emanant.
Though we'll cry out,
We will all be forgotten in the ink.
Crashing down into the water,
Buried beneath these purple skies.
Watching as oxygen turns to nitrogen.
Please don't cry.

I like this, it reminds me of something i wrote a while ago. Mine isn't emotional, its a little joke of someone drinking a cup of capaccino.

Titanus clears the mist,
no joy to sailors here, to
a selfish end the deed be,
Titanus drinks the sea.

I like the warning poems that fortell the results of our sorry state of affairs ... If I may ... this is much the same type of content as my poem "After Shocks", though I am much more wordy. This is very well written ... Going to search out more ...

You're so right. People need to stop being so damn ignorant and realize just what we're doing and where our world is heading. Great write. Its amazing just how much the topics of your writing vary. I've read quite a few and I've notice that though lost love does seem to be a common subject of your writing, its far from the only. You're an all around achiever. Ten points for you!

Speechless. A strong write from start to photo finish. One of your best I've read so far.
