I am like taffy
But still you pulled away
With bits of me
Stuck to you
(So many bits that day)
You, became wax paper
Had to, you’d later say
Picking the pieces
Off of you
(So I would go away)
Little by little
You threw me away
‘Til you were nearly
Cleansed of me
(‘Cept the bit that’s there to stay)

Short and sweet could not have summed it up better. Especially the "sweet"! Honestly though, very light-hearted and witty! |

A very unique perspective. Great mind you obviously possess.
I loved it and I think I could definitely relate. I guess we all can at least once in our lives. Right?
Well done again..

I love toffee...especially the way they stick to the mouth in between chews.... such sweet candy too. (I guess toffee is the same as taffy??
But for me toffee/taffy comes in a jar with no wax paper...hmmm mayhaps different types of toffee/taffy. Though I do know that some toffee/taffy are wrapped in wax paper or plastic wrapper.
Oh well...
Seriously... you seem to be taking this let down pretty well... the separation from your wax paper..taffy...
or such is the impression of the persona of tafy in this here write. Kinda like gum that has been chewed and savored only to be spitted out or stucked behind forum postings on the walls.
Anyway..
A very quaint and rustic poetry that doth have brought to mind a delectable sigh from a cute little story. |

I liked this - it reads simply, but is yet full of meaning. Very clever metaphor.

You are on a roll. I guess dentists love you too. Everybody has said what I was to say.
But, will not shed any salt water. Very cute and suger coated. A real confection of a poem.

I wish I could write stuff like this which is at once simple but very cool, I mean taffy and wax paper, it's not Paradise Lost, but you do your thang very well.--Mothy |

I like your treatment of the idea that we never separate cleanly, that we are still sloughing off memories, feelings and physical reminders of those we separate from or leave us. Also the idea that the process is a traumatic one for the person who is left . Good stuff.

Again loving your use of analogies.
And yes, relating as well as I have had that feeling of being thrown away.
Short, sweet, and sad.
Another awesome poem from SNM. :-)
