Under the Hug Huge Elder Tree

Contributed by Whisper on Sunday, 22nd August 2004 @ 11:37:36 PM in AEST
Topic: ChildrensPoetry

Its time again to tell a Tale
From Out in Front of My Big Elder Tree.
I tell you ....Children
It happened to me.....
I heard their Singing, ever so faintly.
Skipping along one day in my garden,
I happen to pass a Fairy and a Flea.

"Time Passages," began Fairy Free .
"Through the Tunnels of my Mind," quipped the Flea
"Yesterday is only a Skip away ," continued Fairy Free
"From tomorrows Sunny Day," finished the Flea .

"Come along and you will see ," sang Fairy Free Sweetly.
"Many Wonders that will Come to Be "
"In this big place ,"paused he .

And then he cleared his throat ,
and started back up a little Louder this Time.

"What We all down here,
See from the Ground on Up ."

And I stood quietly by , and watched to see.

Linking arms Merrily, they skipped on,
Right passed me .

"Stories, Adventure, Loving and Good Care .
Just the Fairies and the Others will be here.
So Come,
All Who can hear us
Let Your heart be as Children.

Settle Settle Come on along.
And when you are sleeping we watch over you silent
Always watching forever
wishing Sweet Dreams and Songs."
From In my Secret Garden
With the Big hug Huge Elder tree.

Whisper

I love this! I am going to print it and read it to my grandchildren next weekend when they come. They always know I will have something great for them for bedtime. This will be the first one out of the folder.

(fluff is good. I write it a lot, lol)

Hugs,
Rita

Ain't nothing "fluff" about it. Maybe I read it with a different inflection than you had intended but I found it to be a piece of script missing from Tim Burtons 'BIG FISH'. And do mean that in a complimentary way. Great work!
