Last night while I was softly sleeping,
You lay awake while your heart was weeping,
Thoughts dashing around your head,
You should have been cuddled up asleep instead.
You told me this morning you just lay there,
Why didn’t you wake me, you know I care?
I’d have cuddled & kissed your worries away,
Made you fresh & ready for this brand new day.
Your happiness means so much to me,
I’m never too busy to listen to your plea,
My heart is the place that you call your home,
I don’t want you ever having to worry alone.
You & I make such a great team,
What we share is better than any dream,
It hurts to think that you were hurting last night,
While I had hold of a deep sleep so tight.
I am here to keep you safe & warm,
Protect you & your heart from any kinds of harm,
If you’re hurting than I hurt too,
The love runs deep which I hold for you.
