Confused

Contributed by pyrofungus on Saturday, 21st August 2004 @ 03:32:10 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Hand me my heart back
Let me live again
See this world as I saw it before
Not as I see it now
My ways have changed
I’m not the same
I am half alone
Unknown to what I want
I’m so confused
My mind is shot
What has happened to who I am
To who I was not long ago
I have forgotten
I have lost myself in this world I’m in
Can I go back
Can I be who I was before
Can I live once more
As who I really am?
Or will I be stuck
Confused about who I am
Confused about what happened
Who I became and why?

i totally was going through that same kind of thing for a while, and i guess i still am though it isn't as foremost in my mind. i lost who i used to be too, all that childhood innocence. but you did a really good job on that poem cause i could relate to it a lot. but i gues the things we've learned becoming who we now are, are invaluable, at least to me they are. and i wouldn't give those up to get back who i used to be.

sorry i blabbered. good write.

I like this, some of the lines are very emotional. I suggest you start using stanzas, they give the poem substance. You have talent. Keep it up.

Things can change us, or we think we've changed. We grow..we learn. Is that change? A flower grows but it's the same flower...
