i remember playing in the sand
i remember holding his sisters hand
and he got mad and beat me up
telling me to leave her and give up
timeless pieces of our lives
hidden among the ashes of our lies
we all grew up on the same street
the fort in the woods was where we'd meet
we thought that we'd be friends forever
i wouldnt ever give us up, never
forgotten times that we shared
like when we all really cared
having sleep overs in the sixth grade
sleeping in a blanket tent that we made
the boy down the street was the one we mocked
we pointed and laughed, man we rocked
rancid memories of our past
all escaping us so fast
sharing a limo on the way to the prom
nothing for us ever seemed to go wrong
we were all in it until the end
even the weddings we didnt attend
private thoughts that we only knew
we were best friends and we were few

I really like the rhymes, it has good flow. Also it has a good ending line, which I love. I think it makes a good poem better. |
