What Is Love

How can you love me, after all we've been through?
How can you care, the way that I do?
Do you really feel the same way, tell me right now.
I want to love you, please show me how.
I have been hurt, and I have cried.
Still I stayed with you, although you've lied.
Will our love last, I am so scared.
I don't want to lose you, I am not prepared.
Prepared to accept such a lonesome fate.
Why can't I love you, why do I hate?
Hate everything that happens to me.
This isn't how I expected my life to be.

Im supposed to be happy not full of tears.
You'd think I'd learn, after all these years.
Love is truly blind, it's all coming clear.
There is no such thing, it's simply all fear.
Fear of being alone, all by yourself.
Love can't be measured by looks or your wealth.
It's something that grows, deep down inside.
I'm tired of running, there's no place to hide.
I need to accept, the way that things are.
My heart has been broken, and it's left an emotional scar.
