The air is closing in on me, i cannot breathe,
And suddenly the night is not as beautiful as it first seemed,
The stars twinkle with unsupressed mirth,
And the man in the moon whispers light beams,
'You get what you deserve',
And suddenly he is no longer a friend to me,
Silently laughing as he rips away my last dream.
The faintest glimmer of a hope was all i had,
But it now seems to have faded at last,
I thought that i could run away from this pain,
Go away, learn to be happy, never come back again;
Oh why did i have to dream this thing, this way?
I know i should not have lived upon such little faith,
But it was the only thing i ever had,
Well now i know, dreams never last.
And maybe you think i am overeacting,
But i ask you this:
What is there to live for if the last thing you wish,
Dies...?
I guess dreams die too.

Awwww, hon... I've already told you not to give up. I don't think it's gone and I'm believing enough... so much... that there's extra for you when you're doubting it.
I knew it was as big as this piece conveys even without you saying everything you were feeling. But, Phil, hon-- it's not your last dream... it's your first one. I do believe it will come true and I believe you will dream on from there. And that man in the moon is absolutely right... you get what you deserve. And YOU... deserve to see all your dreams come true.

As SNM wrote,don't give up on your dreams,so many more will come your way...I'm not exactly sure what happened,but if it's because of someone,don't listen to them.I've had people tell me veternarian school is impossible to get into,and now I'm the one that's laughing,having listened to them,I would have got nowhere.Never ever let your dreams go.Not for anyone.

Philly, hopes and dreams are what make life worth living. Never stop hoping or dreaming. Never let anyone quash them for you. Life goes on, even when we think it is over. So we might as well make the best of it and enjoy each day we are given. You are very young still and many hopes and dreams will come true for you. Especially the ones you really work for.

I know how it feels, hon . . . but like I said earlier, and like SNM et al said, this isn't a one-shot deal. Dreams aren't one-use, one per lifetime available, disposable little things. It hurts, I know it hurts, for this dream to die . . . but there will be many many other dreams in your life, hon, and some of them WILL come true. I know they will.

My heart truly goes out to you. I am so sorry that you are hurting this deeply and I feel helpless in regards to helping you to feel better.
I've always been amazed and impressed with your poetry. Its like you open your soul and whisper for it to make the magic we call words.
