destroy yourself
and leave no trace.
that seems so inviting.
but hang around
for just a little while
i promise it gets better
don't let go and call it winning
your only fooling yourself
guns are signs of weakness
be yourself through it all
no matter how hard it is
no matter the pain you feel
because dealing with the pain
instead of giving in
is the ultimate sign of strength
that few can ever hold.

I do not really think that guns are the problem...it is the mentality behind the people involved...this American obsession with the guns is not the fault of the gun but all those who advocated and perpetuated this tradition of strength through the ability to hurt or kill.... this codex that might makes right...that is the very foundation of US intervention policies and the way most people think. 'We have the guns you listen to us or we make you...."..."gunboat diplomacy".
You can say that guns are weakness what about knives then...blades and sticks and stones..... blame not the gun! The people are the cause...I happen to find guns more congenial than people.
Anyway...a very noble poetic endeavour with such a sensible message.. nice and very thought provoking write! |
