You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
I think of back then and how it use to be,
Some warm memories,
And some not and I think,
Did I really know you back then?
Were you the same person I see now?
You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
I shed tears for you.
I would have shed blood for you.
My life belonged to you.
My heart was yours to keep.
Were you the same person I see now?
You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
I do not know you now.
But I do know you like the back of my hand.
I see a different person than I thought you were.
Were you the same person I see now?
You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
I placed you on a pedastal.
You were my ultimate everything.
I breathed you,
I tasted you,
I loved you.
Now that is no more.
Were you the same person I see now?
You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
You have fallen from your pedastal
Into a place I never thought you would.
I do not love you.
I do not cry for you.
I do not breathe you.
I do not taste you.
I do not have respect for you.
You are nothing to me but the
Selfish shell of a person you have
Shown me you are.
You were my best friend.
You were my lover.
You were my companion.
You are nothing to me now.
How did I not see who you really were?
