Sleepless nights.
Eyes wide open, glazed over with grief.
A blanket of solitude securely tucking me in.
Shadows become a picture book.
A tale of sadness and irony,
Black hearts and faithless souls,
blindly walking, trudging into the fire.
Agony fills my being as I turn over to think,
Inevitably sleep would overcome me.
I would succomb into a world of nightmares.
Trying not to give in,
as one eye slowly closes, making its way into oblivion.

Great imagery!
The greif and darkness pour out of this, and yet it almost seems that you are choosing to be alone.
Nicely done. |

"A blanket of solitude securely tucking me in.
Shadows become a picture book." Excellent lines. I am visited by memories of empty nights, and sleepless beds. A powerful write. Nice job Jenny
