No fairies, or other creatures, except the author, were harmed in any way during the writing of this tale. The author is recovering nicely ... thanks in part to the wonderful ministrations of the inhabitants of this mystical place, and a few months of intensive counselling. Any resemblence to any persons known or previously unknown is strictly intentional, and was done so with their consent. The author would like to thank Bernard for his permission to recount this story ....
I stepped accross a bridge one day
That spanned a rather narrow way
Once I had reached the othe side
I turned 'round, and to my surprise
The bridge I had so surely used
Was gone, I stood there quite bemused
Aloud, I wondered " How could that be ? "
And whilst I pondered absently
I heard a voice, a friendly sort
It came from a man, who was half HORSE !
I stumbled, fell, and struck me head
Could not recall a word he said
Meant no offence, tried not to stare
But to me, you see, he was rather rare
For within my travels, I ne'er had heard
Of his kind, a single word
As I collected scattered thought
He noticed I seemed a bit distraught
Called he, to friends " Come hither, all ...
This poor man just took a fall "
I could scarce believe mine eyes
When creatures filled the earth and skies
Of such fantastical array
Confusion reigned o're all surveyed
Animals and man were melded
Awkward creatures fused and welded
Leprechauns and fairy folk
Pixies, sprites, and nymphs on oak
From childrens tales I do recall
Perhaps a few, but nay, not all
Vision slowly faded out
As all around did hoot and shout
Consciousness soon after fled
Then I awoke in someone's bed
A gentle hand had brushed my face
I gave a start, my heart did race
Before me stood a woman, quite fair
Thanks to the heavens she was "all there"
She said "You fell into our yard ...
My husband helped you, his name's Bernard."
So surely now, it all made sence as
I had fallen through Bernard's fences
And a lovely visit was had by all, Thanks again Bernard, this was fun !!!

Wonderful poem I liked the mention of the centaur I had forgotten him still its along, long time since I studied the Greek mythology. Nazmythian you should seriously think of having your poems printed. I liked what I have read so far. keep up the writing perhaps you too have a pen of magic. The fairies give one or two away each year or so. Keep smiling from bernard. |

This was fantastic! I love Bernard's writes, he has such an imagination, and you have matched it wonderfully. You may be an apprentice, but you're certainly not "half-fast"!! :o) Enjoyed immensely! Maybe you two could get together and publish a book of fantasy. It would be a hot seller! Peace
