Nearer To God

Nearer to God, nearer to thee
This my simple plea
With my heart open wide
I ask you to live inside
~~~
Grant me love, grant me peace
At your table let me feast
Let your word fill my mind
Erase all selfishness you might find
~~~
Anoint my mouth that I may speak
Of you love for other to seek
Strengthen my legs that I may walk
To lost souls that need to be taught
~~~
Make me an example of your grace
Place your glow upon my face
Enrich my voice that I may sing
The praises to my Lord and King
~~~
Nearer to God, nearer to thee
This my simply plea
With my heart open wide
I ask you to live inside
