Something To Live For

Contributed by WestCPunk on Monday, 16th August 2004 @ 03:37:15 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

***
The day I'm on my own
And completely alone
The day I meet that one special someone
And no longer feel broken
The day I prove my parents wrong
And finally feel like I belong
The day I'm reunited with my best friend
And our hearts mend
The day where no frowns are to be seen
And everyhing seems so serene
The day my parents finally except me
And tell me that I'm everything they wanted me to be
The day I'm cured
And offically matured
The day as if I feel like I've truly succeeded
And my past seems as if it's something sacred
The day I have fun with pure chaos
And have the right to be my own boss
The day someone truly knows who I am
And doesn't give a damn
The day I look back on everything
And not regret anything
The day I try and change what this country stands for
And just have the memory of knowing I gave it my all
The day I can look in the mirror
And see that I stuck it all out through thick and thin
The day I spread my wings
And fly away
Up into the sky I soar
....Well that's something to live for!!!

And Shelbi, YOU WILL succeed. I am sooooo proud of you. You have made me so happy and I have big alligator tears running down my cheeks. Girl, you have something, I don't know what it is, but is has SUCCESS written all over it. Hopefully one day I will be able to come and take you to dinner and we can dine and talk and have as Shelbi 'coming into her own' celebration. Thank you for believing in yourself and thank you for trusting that someone truly cares.

Rita

Shelbi, this is really an incredible piece of work. Your skill is excellent.
And I hope that day comes for you soon.

Yippee! A positive write! (yeah for Rita's encouragement!)

Shelbit - This is terrific... a joy to read. I wish all these things for you (lol! though I'm a tad worried about the "fun with pure chaos"...)

Keep writing... and don't lose sight of these thoughts/feelings,
SNM
