Up All Night

“Up All Night”

Can’t sleep, don’t know what to do,
I’m awake all night, thinking of you.
Clock strikes one.
I can’t blame you, you don’t even know,
I wanted to tell, but I couldn’t show.
Clock strikes two.
You don’t know what you mean to me,
You have no idea, you just can’t see.
Clock strikes three.
I wanted to be with you, and just hold your hand,
I wanted to be yours, wanted to be your man.
Clock strikes four.
It’s four in the morning, I’m still awake,
Get out of my head for goodness sakes.
Clock strikes five.
You found someone else, I don’t know who,
If he makes you cry, I know what I’ll do.
Clock strikes six.
I’ll hurt him, and make him cry.
You deserve the best, the best damn guy.
Clock strikes seven.
Another night gone, thinking of you.
I can’t go on much longer, don’t know what to do.
I’ll get up now, and go along with the day,
But one more thing I have to say.
I would die for you, so you don’t feel pain,
The guy you’re with now better feel the same.
If he hurts you, he will pay,
I will make sure he doesn’t see another day.
I will love you always, and that will remain the same,
For I’m stuck in this life, this stupid game.

Kevin, this is a very good write, and I love the idea of having the clock strike throughout the poem....

And I have had many sleepless nights thinking over the same things...

This is so well done...The idea of the clock striking at each hour is fabulous...adds a lot to the poem....
