Realise Reality

Contributed by Ripper_Something_Unusual on Sunday, 15th August 2004 @ 05:03:58 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Break the already cracked waves of dawn,
Festering skin on the side of a pallet knife,
Maggots try to eat me,
A poisonous side dish to an cannibal dinner party,
This is life,
A washed up ball of hope.

Tighten the hangmans noose,
He cant do it anymore,
Hes hanging from it himself.
This is what the world drives people like us to,
But theyre too blind to see what to do,
What a society we live in.

Full speed ahead,
Tell my family goodbye,
Hope this windsheild isnt reinforced,
This is my fault,
I never look at the consequences,
I never realise reality till its too late.

The imagery is excellent. Especially like the lines ..."Tighten the hangmans noose,
He cant do it anymore,
Hes hanging from it himself. "

Great Write !!
