breaking up

Topic: goodbyepoetry

ill miss our love and the times we shared,
i miss knowing you were the one that cared.
it pains me to know we werent meant to be,
but i know now you werent the one for me.

i thought you were my soulmate, only friend,
i thought my love for you would never end.
but here we stand now cold and distant,
it all just dissapeared in an instant.

how did it happen? why did we part?
why werent we true to each others hearts?
ill tell you why our love did not last,
we were both caught up in our past.

so we let go just thinking of ourselves
leaving our feelings high upon the shelf,
but we said goodbye to feelings strong,
the feelings of knowing where we belong.

one day when were older we may find,
that i will be yours and you will be mine.
till then, you will be my closest friend,
right from the beginning to the very end

I'm sure your friend found it to be just how she would have written it herself.
