it just rolls off me now
if it ever stuck before
their words
their glances
all seem to decay
before i have the time to care
is it belated insanity
or just slowly spreading apathy
i try so hard to hate them
and summon fury at their slights
but i seem to have run myself dry
there's simply nothing left
(never think
not anymore
just stare at the wall
or admire empty things
nothing registers
nothing matters
it's just a waiting game
and someday soon i know
it will all be over)
like a grey wall
against the world
my apathy has grown
and i'd like to say it's a comfort
but it's really nothing at all
