3 Nails Plus A Cross Equals Forgiveness

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Saturday, 14th August 2004 @ 10:34:57 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

In my Christian walk with thee
I have found forgiveness is the golden key
If I forgive another who has done wrong to me
Then I … myself… can ask forgiveness of the Lord
And by His wonderful grace… it will be granted to me

‘Cause…
Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness for me
When Jesus died upon that lonely… lonely tree
For me… a sinner… a lost… lonely and dying one
He spilled His precious… precious blood
He took all my sins and then… bore them upon the cross
So that I might have everlasting life through Him
And receive forgiveness within my heart
And believe that…
Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness for me

I once was a sinner… lost in a world of sin and shame
Tried of living my life in vain
Pushed to and fro… by the wicked winds of life that blow
Having no knowledge of those three nails plus a cross…

Then one night… in the wee hours of the morning light
I heard a knock at my heart’s door…
I… slowly began… to open the door…
To find my Savior standing there…
A loving smile stretched across His face
Showing me He cared… with His beauty and grace…
As He stood there silently in the soft rain…
That was falling down from my heart’s window pane
I’ll never forget the sound of those whispered words of love…
That my heart found that night… sent down from above…

He said… to me…
“Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness from me
When I died upon that lonely… lonely tree
For you… a sinner… a lost… lonely and dying one
I spilled my precious… precious blood
I took all your sins and then… bore them upon the cross
So that you might have everlasting life through me
And receive forgiveness within your heart
And believe that…
Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness from me…”

Now… you too… my friend… can receive this same forgiveness as me…
If you’ll just heed to the knocking at your heart’s door
And surrender all to the Lord…
And hear those whispered words of love… within your heart…
“Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness from me…”

Just as He said… to me…
“Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness from me
When I died upon that lonely… lonely tree
For you… a sinner… a lost… lonely and dying one
I spilled my precious… precious blood
I took all your sins and then… bore them upon the cross
So that you might have everlasting life through me
And receive forgiveness within your heart
And believe that…
Three nails plus a cross equals forgiveness from me…”

Nice job
I like your poem.To be Christian is to be called to suffer along with Him. "Pick up your cross,Come follow Me" very good poem.
