You make appointments if you need to meet
A doctor, or physician specialist,
Or a psychologist, to help get rid,
of problem deeply hid in fog and mist
It is expected that such rendez -vous
Will help to find the trouble source and bare
The spot that hurts, so doctors can pursue
The treatment of the patient in their care.
But Jesus has for all of this no need,
Lo! It is Him that does approach you first,
And any time you can with Jesus meet,-
The order is entirely reversed.
He calls and summons souls persistently
Begs them to let Him in to touch and view,
And heal the wound and illnesses for free,
Without appointments or an Interview.
He comes head-on,- and without waiting long
In ante-chambers of psychiatrists,
To assuage the hurt and right the wrong,
And sooth past hurts that linger and persist.
Such tryst will spare sick souls the fallacy,
Of couch, or trance, hypnosis or seance,
To calm the surges of the raging sea.
And billows of the psyche’s turbulence
Let this physician in with faith and trust,
Commit to Him your soul with confidence
Commit your future, present day and past,
He’ll calm the squalls and tempest’s vehemence
>
He will not pass you by, but stop and hear
Your pleas that rise from dark profundity,
But walk to His encounter without fear,
Who calms the tempest and the raging sea.

Elizabeth, this is the most beautiful image I think I've ever read of Jesus Himself. To calm the raging sea of mankind, and to show love to toward any that would listen and He heed!
Your pictures were startling, and showed the power He still possessed today if only people would listen. Complete calmness of heart, with His sympathy.
A marvelous tribute to His kindness, consideration, and His love.
The was simply marvelous ED. Thank you so much for writing and sharing!
Poetic hugs

After reading this for a good while I realized it was iambic pentameter--and needless to say, I'm immensely impressed. For me to not notice implies that you've done it so smoothly it just flows (in fact it took me 3 stanzas to figure out everything sounded the same, not just beautiful) without needing to rely on the rhythm an an excuse for odd wording or incoherence. The 4th stanza brought a frown to my face--and that's when it hit me.
Being not much of a religious fellow myself, I admire your faith, but politely limit my praise to your diction and metaphors. While its content is a bit less outstanding, the work itself is very worthy of compliment.
Fluidly done.
