Fallen Angel

Contributed by ps_ihateyou on Friday, 13th August 2004 @ 11:09:16 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I sit and stare at this beautiful girl
She's wanted and desired like a hidden pearl
She was once a sweet and innocent child
Always caring, gentle, and mild
But something changed in her over the years
Something changed as she shed all those tears
Always yelling and screaming in her home,
She began looking for other places to roam
She met the wrong people and made the wrong friends
And she thought they would be there until the very end
But once all of her mistakes had finally hit her
She realized she saw the same things in her sister
There was nothing she could do and nothing she could say
Just watch her sister drift further away
But during all of this, her relationship fell apart
And she was left alone with a broken heart
Now she has a baby and she's only eighteen
And she cries for her future that remains unseen

This is really good. I like your choice of words.

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. It kind of reminds me of Melanie C's song "Northern Star." (though I'm not a fan of hers) Great poem!
