I was nine when I heard the news
That you were on the way
I surely didn’t have the blues
On the day you finally came
I called my friends, told everyone
That mommy had a green-eyed girl
And to this day you are the one
My greatest friend in the whole wide world
From when I open my eyes at dawn
Till the time I lay to rest
To your heart I hold on
You are the very best
Time to time I say to mom
Thank you very much
For now I have a hand to hold
And a friend to play with
At seventeen I feel the same
For the 30th was my favorite day
Though at times you can be a pill
I love you now, always have and always will

That's so cute! I could relate, because I have a baby sister too, and feel the same kind of bond. And my sister is still a "Pill" and she's 38 yrs. old. ;O) Nice poem, I liked it. |
